Wanna move to california but im scared?

Hello im 13 years old and i wanna live at long beach California. Right now i live at Illinois and i really don't have family that live inn California. I know im too young but when i graduate i wanna go to usc. When im done with college i wanna live at California. But the thing is that im gonna leave my family and never gonna see them allot. I always dreamed of living there since i was 8 so its been 5 years i been thinking about this. In the future i wanna have kids there and have a husband and live in a big house. The thing im scared about is there is WAY more gangs than Chicago like in Compton, los angles, Inglewood, and more. I don't wanna get killed out there and i really wanna more to los angles but im scared. Then i said i will go to long beach California they have gangs too. What is the safest place to live in California were you can walk around at night and don't hear gun shots. Also should i leave my family.
