I am 27 and writing my 1st cv. my problem is that since leaving school i have spent more time overseas?

traveling. i would go away for 6mths a time return home and work solid for 2mth an go back wherever. in 2010 my daughter was born and now its time 2 settle. i feel my life on paper doesn't look to good towards an employer because of the inconsistency although i feel everything i have done should shine on paper. is their a free site for looking at other peoples CV's that they have uploaded. i don't want to copy just compare. not sure if im asking the right question for the answers i want but right now any advice on links or even better if you are someone thathasn'tt followed the education route an have an outstanding cv maybe you could please advise!
