Is this the event that will lead to the elimination of the BCS?

The taking of an entire BCS championship win away from USC, due to the actions of one player seem ridiculous to me. The BCS is so utterly detached from what the fans of NCAA football want I think eventually BCS will be squeezed out and a playoff system will replace it, what say you?
