I'm 15 & I truly love the game of basketball, but I have never formally played. Do I have a chance to be good?
I am 15 and going to be a sophomore in high school this fall. I absolutely love the game of basketball. I am always trying to pick up hints from anywhere i can. I watch videos on basketball lessons on youtube, I watch videos of kobe and michael jordan play, and I continually am outside practicing on my hoop. I watch videos on how to improve a jump shot and go out and try it, I watch videos on drills to try to improve dribbling and go out and try it, etc. But I just feel like I am not good enough because i miss several shots at random times, and i hate that inconsistency. I just don't feel good enough. Also, i've never formally played on a team in a league. Unfortunately, I'm a cross country runner, so I most likely could not try out for the basketball team in fall or do any basketball summer camps because I'm already doing running camps. But I want to improve for several reasons: to feel confident about playing the game i love, to have a chance to try out for basketball junior year, and for the future (college). can anyone tell me what i need to do to find myself, and to improve myself as a basketball player? any suggestions, hints, advice, anything?
