Does this woman sound wishy-washy?

I have a friend who has helped me a great deal with my son. She has taken him to appointments, watched him on weekends, etc. I started seeing a new guy a year ago and she continued to help me during that period. Lately, the last couple of months she has not helped me nearly as much as she did for years and I was trying to figure out what happened. She has a long-distance marriage and she used to always tell me that it was fine when her husband came to visit for her to watch my son if I needed her, as her husband loved my son and wanted him to be around. Now, she tells me that whenever her husband comes to visit, that my son cannot come because she needs this time with her husband alone because she rarely sees him. While I understand her wanting to see him, I don't understand her inconsistency. Also, my son says that when he comes to visit they argue a lot.
